The customer is primarily engaged in data center operations and cloud computing infrastructure services. Its cooling system extensively uses vacuum negative pressure for circulating water degassing, condenser evacuation, and pipeline drainage. The stability of the vacuum level in the cooling system directly affects the temperature control efficiency of the server room and the safety of equipment operation.

The customer's previous vacuum system suffered from insufficient pumping speed, inadequate buffering capacity, and manual drainage operations. Especially during high-temperature seasons, when the cooling system load increased, the original vacuum equipment frequently triggered overheat protection, affecting the cooling performance of the data center. The customer explicitly requested an efficient, intelligent water ring vacuum system with sufficient pumping capacity and buffer volume, as well as automated drainage to minimize manual intervention.

After conducting an on-site survey, the Puyan Machinery technical team customized the following configuration based on the operating characteristics of the data center cooling system:

  • Core Vacuum Source: Water Ring Pump 2BV2060. This pump features a water-ring design with a compact structure and smooth operation, suitable for extracting gas mixtures containing water vapor. It achieves an ultimate vacuum above -0.085 MPa, meeting the cooling system's requirements for degassing and drainage.
  • Buffering System: 1.5m³ buffer tank. The large-volume tank effectively smooths out vacuum fluctuations, ensuring stable pressure at multiple usage points in the cooling circulation. The tank was specially customized to meet the customer's requirements, with a design suitable for long-term continuous operation in the data center.
  • Temperature Control: Constant temperature water tank. Provides working fluid at a constant temperature for the water ring pump, ensuring optimal operation of the pump and avoiding pumping efficiency loss or overheat protection caused by temperature fluctuations.
  • Control System: Puyan control panel. The panel integrates PLC programmable control. As requested by the customer, both the suction port and the bottom drain port of the buffer tank are equipped with motorized vacuum butterfly valves. All valve switching controls are integrated into the Puyan control panel. Operators can complete suction and drainage operations with a single button on the panel, or set timed automatic drainage, significantly improving the system's automation level. The control panel also features overload, phase-failure, and overheat protection, ensuring safe and reliable operation of the system.

The complete system underwent program testing and airtightness testing before leaving the factory. On-site installation only required connection to the main pipeline, cooling water, and power supply.

  4. Easy Maintenance: The water ring pump has a simple structure, and with the protection of the buffer tank and constant temperature water tank, maintenance workload is extremely low.
